Role Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Indirect Leader, we are seeking for an experienced and strategic Manager, MRO and IT/Telecom Category sourcing leader – APAC to lead regional MRO and IT/Telecom Categories across the Asia Pacific region—including China, India, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, and other key markets etc.
This will need to cover both MRO and IT/Telecom related Capex, incl. but not limited to Production / Automation equipment procurement, and other LCC (Low-cost country) sourcing support activities etc.
This role blends MRO and IT/Telecom procurement leadership to improve performance, enhance supplier management, and deliver value across a dynamic, diverse geography. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration skills to drive operational excellence and cost efficiency.
Role Purpose:
Category Strategy & Leadership
Lead to develop the category strategies for the categories in the region, ensure well-aligned across the board, and drive for proper executions/deployment.
Take ownership of the KPIs year-over-year delivery, incl. but not limited to the development of strategic initiatives, pipelines, execution and deliveries on sustainable basis.
Lead partnership with the key stakeholders in the region and global to ensure Engagement, Collaboration and customer satisfaction.
Lead regional support for global projects/initiatives implementation in the region
Drive MRO & IT/Telecom related capital equipment proactive Demand management, & strategic sourcing etc..
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Governance
Develop and execute annual sourcing strategies for MRO & IT/Telecom Categories.
Lead larger impact RFPs / actions to drive for the strategic value creation/delivery.
Manage supplier performance using formal governance frameworks, with focus on delivery, quality, and cost metrics.
Conduct cost/benefit analyses, contract evaluations, and benchmarking studies to drive procurement efficiencies.
Align sourcing strategies with market trends, Carrier’s cost-reduction targets, and regional operational goals.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate closely with Carrier’s business units, supply chain, etc. to ensure alignment of category strategies across the board.
Lead and mentor a team of regional procurement professionals; establish KPIs, monitor progress, and foster talent development etc.
Promote Carrier’s global programs such as supplier diversity, environmental sustainability, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
MA/MS with 7+ years of experience OR
BA/BS with 10+ years of relevant experience
Experience:
10+ years in MRO and IT/Telecom, capital procurement, supply chain, or operations leadership
3+ years Commodity management experience for MRO and IT/Telecom categories in larger MNCs - global or regional manufacturing environment
Proven tracking record for year-over-year outstanding performance deliveries.
Proven ability to manage complex vendor relationships and lead cross-functional, multi-country teams
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract governance, and supplier performance metrics
Demonstrated ability to lead change and deliver results in a matrixed, fast-paced environment
